I feel like this time around he's trying to get me back or something

My boyfriend and I went out to the movies the other day. He was supposed to bring these free tickets he had,but when we arrived he said he wasn't able to find them at home. I then told him I had no money, cause that was the truth. He have me a dirty look, and said "Awesome!" This made me feel sooo awkward, and I didn't even want to sit in the movie. I walked out during it, and texted him telling him I was leaving, and that I'd pay him back for his movie. He then tells me I am overreacting..Am I? We have been together for over a year now, and I always pay for myself..He only pays sometimes..I feel so weird now..We broke up twice, the first time cause I treated him like shit..I feel like this time around he's trying to get me back or something??
