I don't NEED a guy, but I really WANT one. Why could this be?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Im 16, soon to be 17. I've only had one boyfriend, which was in May 2008, but it ended before it started. We didn't kiss or get intimate in any way as it was my first. He was the only guy that liked me back.

However, I really really want a guy. I do NOT "need" one at all. I can cope on my own, i am very independent, like spending time alone and with friends, i do NOT need attention from guys.

But, lately I have just really really "Wanted" a guy.

Please dont get me wrong, I will not need advice on being independent and not needing a man.

"The right guy will come along, just enjoy being a teenager" - That's something i am already doing, I know the right guy will come along, I just have to have patience. It's just the feeling of 'wanting' one.

I dont actually understand why i've been wanting one lately as I haven't 'wanted' one before.

Why could this be?

anoms agony auntwell i can only suggest valantines because i felt the same way, and its still a matter of needing comforting but it just hits home a little harder when you feel like everyone else is very happy with the ones that care for them, but cheer up and keep your wits about ya, your man could be just around the corner, gudluk.

Hey, it wasn't to do with valentines day because I've never had a problem with it before. I actually slept for the whole of valentines day because I was extremely tired, not to avoid the lovey dovey stuff.

I just keep thinking I want one. Like, I want a guy to hold, be with, talk to me, be with me, comfort me, hold me, etc..

I really dont know why though.
