writes:I am in grade nine and friends with this girl, Bree. She is also in grade nine and is in every single one of my classes. I live in a small town and just started going to her school, in a small town close to mine, this year. At the beginning of the year, she kept to herself and then around October, when I started dating another girl, Bree and I became really close. We would hang out, talk and tease each other all the time during school. We even worked together on a couple assignments near the beginning of the year. She lets me copy off of her sometimes in math and will help me with questions whenever I ask her.We’ve been alone a few times at the lunch table or in the hallways and talked a little bit but not about anything serious. She doesn’t talk to some of the other guys as much as she talks to me, but there is one guy who she is really good friends with(Cameron). He and I are friends and hang out during school, but we both live out of town so we don’t hang out after school or anything. I don’t know how he feels about her, but I think she might like him. In class a while ago we had to go in partners for a big project. She and Cameron went together. There were only three of us in the class at the time because my partner wasn’t here and the rest of the students were in the computer lab. Bree and Cameron were working on their project together, laughing and goofing off the entire time. Sometimes I see them walking down the hallways together, but not that often, and I know that they text each other a lot, too. Today at school me, Bree, a kid from our class named Seth, and a couple of other people were standing in the hallway talking. Seth yelled across the hallway to Bree, “Why don’t you ask Josh (me) out?” She replied, “Why?” As if it was a stupid question to ask she didn’t want to ask me out. Seth said, “Because you like him!” I stormed over to Seth and threatened to punch him if he didn’t shut up. I went back to my locker and Bree was still standing there. She looked a little confused, but also a little worried. Seth began to walk away, but she said, “What are you talking about?” he ignored her and walked away. She followed him around the corner and I don’t know what they said. I avoided her best I could the rest of the day and hung out mostly with three other girls from our class. Bree was with us some of the time, but she didn’t say anything to me. She looked upset and sometimes like she wanted to say something, but she didn’t. I don’t know what to think now. Does she like me, or doesn’t she? Was Seth just making this big joke? And if he was, why was Bree a little worried afterwards? What if she doesn’t like me anyways? Does anyone have any ideas???

 It doesn't seem like she's given you any really concrete hints that she likes you. Sometimes girls are hard to read and sometimes boys are troublemakers and just start rumors. She may have been confused over her feelings about you once Seth shouted that out loud because maybe the thought had never crossed her mind and all of a sudden she realized she did like you after all. Or maybe she seemed worried because she doesn't want to lead you on or get your hopes up. It is hard to tell in this situation, so just do your best to see how things go day to day!
