Ok, here I am once again needing your advice. I really like this guy I'm seeing, we've known each other for about 4 months and have been dating about 2 months now and I really want to tell him how I feel but am scared that he will run to the highest mountain. It may not be love at this point but I don't want to date anyone else. We have been spending a lot of time together and have had sex 1 time since we've been dating but the rest of the time we have spent together which is about 3 to 4 days a week is non-sexual and that's ok with me right now, we usually watch a movie and just cuddle on the sofa and actually fall asleep there together. When he emails me he always signs it with "your friend" what does that mean exactly? yes, we are friends but my fear is that it isn't going any further than that and I really want to tell him I would like it to be more eventually. He is 54 and I am 44, both divorced, he had a really bad divorce and was hurt deeply and I want to take it slow for him. I never bring up the question..."where is this going" and I don't pressure him with phone calls or emails, I give him his space and he usually calls me to see if I want to come over. I have invited him to my place but he has never been here. Do I need to worry or just continue what I'm doing and should I call him more so he will think it's not one-sided? Help me out, I don't know how to date any more.

thanks so much

Mara

Is does sound like he either wants to take things slow (so that you won't turn into a huge divorce later down the line) or that he is not really ready to date and move on fully yet but really likes you so has struck this compromise.

I think you should perhaps call him a little more, just to show you are interested. Otherwise he is just going to think you are chugging along alone quite happily and don't really want to see him as much more.

Dress up a little more and if the mood is right then don't be scared to kiss him. You don't have to wait for him as he could be waiting for you.

Also sign your emails with something a little less formal and see how he responds... like "cant wait to see you again, Your Mara xxxxxxxx"

Make little moves forward and see if he follows.

If all goes well then perhaps you can get to the point where questions like "I really like having you as a boyfriend........ where do you see us this time next year?" won't be out of the question.

Good Luck!! xx
