 I will recommend one of my favorite books on the subject, "Tickle his pickle", by Sadie Allison. Read it, then ASK him what he likes, tell him to show you. That way you learn it from him.
You could start by keep your hands on the outside of his pants, it makes it less awkward for you to caress him. And then just be slow and gentle - watch his face and listen to him.
