writes:There's this boy I like in yr 8 and today when we were on the train he was talking to me (we always talk on the train) and this girl came up and asked if I was his girl friend (unfortunately-I'm not) and he said "yeah- she is" but I wasn't really listening and when she caught my atention and asked me I said "no, why?" and this boy look really hurt - but I thought he had a girlfriend. I just wanted to share this and was wondering if anyone had any views. Reply to this Question

reader, anonymous, writes (3 December 2007): why impress others? if you like him and he likes you back the best you too can do is see where those feelings take you. you need no one's approval! your mates are only your true friends as long as they support you in whichever decision you make.

I don't think he would say yes because he has said to me a while back that he only dates his year and above - I'm in yr 7, he's in yr8. Also - I'm not sure if my mates would aprove - and that is important coz this is a new shcool and I want to make a good impression and not go out with a "bad" boyfriend.

 Either he was trying to fob this other girl off, or he was actually asking you out. Why not ask him? I had a guy friend I used to sit with on the tran, he waited till the very last day of college to tell me he was in love with me, but as it was the last day, and I was getting off the train at the time, we had no contact details for one another and I ever saw him again, I really do wish I had known sooner, things may be so different now! They may not have been, but I do wish he had told me sooner, or at least that I had told him!
So why not ask him, whats he gonna say?
