 I say yeah! Ask him if he wants to hang out some time. Boys do (In my experience) like it when they know your interessted in them. Although play it cool. Casual flirting, no way full on on a first date.
Also if your friends can ask him if he likes you that would be good too. Good Luck! He should value your bravery for having the courage to ask you out!
