My ex, who was my first LTR had a much lower sex drive than me and could easily go without it for up to 3-4 months. I tried to seduce her and please her, but it didnt' work out much. She said it's not my fault, she just doesn't feel like it. In the end, we broke up for various reasons, sex life being one of them, but I lived with it for almost six years and thought it's normal and I have to accept that. I even felt bad about masturbating in the end, because she never did. Now I actually don't know if I could handle someone with a big sex drive anymore, since for me, to have sex has become such a special occasion, something like christmas or your birthday. I don't think I could celebrate christmas or my birthday each day, I'd probably die of exhaustion.Well, I still like my ex though, she's a great person and this is not a post against her. I just wish this part of our relationship had worked out better.

Wife and I are in our early 60's, married over 38 years ago. The first year or so after giving our virginity to each other on our wedding night we probably averaged about a dozen times a week. Now we are physically affectionate very regularly - kissing, fondling, etc several times a day - but may go 2 or 3 weeks between full intercourse. Then we might do it 2 or 3 times in one week, so we probably average 3 or 4 times per month.

My girlfriend totted up our tally recently and we have an average of 4 times a week for the past 7 years. But the first year was every day, 2 or 3 times, anywhere and everywhere and we've had dry patches too but we never leave each other unfulfilled.
This week for example has been a stressful one for my girlfriend and she needs morning sex to make her day easier to deal with and a long session of oral to unwind in the evening so she can de-stress and sleep easier. Her desire for pleasure turns into a need when she's stressed out so I always oblige. She loves giving oral too and is very generous in that respect so even if we have a lazy fortnight in terms of intercourse we keep each other and sometimes ourselves satisfied. It's nice to break up the routine, keeps things interesting. Regular sex can become mundane so we prevent that by taking a few days off to build up some tension every now and again too. We also use sex to ease her menstrual cycle which is generally quite harsh with no sex. She gets bad cramping, heavy flow etc. and sex really eases that a lot. Plus it's great for me because it's never a reason I have to go without sex which it was for most of my exes. Although it did take a bit convincing to get her to do it the first time. It's something I'd recommend to everyone, she gets the most pleasure from sex during her cycle.

the KEY for us is we are ALWAYS affectionate... and always physical.
oh and age matters I'm 52 he's 39 and my drive is higher than his.
why do you ask? everyone is different and you can't compare yourself to others.
