 Hard to answer this one as it all depends on what type of friend they are, is the person the same sex as you, are they the same age, is it a friendship or dating site ?
Caution is the watch word, dont meet anyone on your own, dont go off with them and keep first meetings brief and in a public place.
Be aware of meeting people for romance from the internet as they are seldom what they seem as on the net you can be anyone and oftern people describe themselves as one thing and in reality they are something entirely different.

 well depending on the age of both of you and what u have seen of them changes the situation like seeing no photos u should give loads of time compared to seeing them on cam you should really talk for around 3 weeks minmum and meet sumwhere busy and tell sumone your going to met sumone. i met a guy off the net after a day but told my ex i was seeing sumone we met at the local shopping centre this guys now my bf but never take risk u can always cancel if u dont feel right
