 If you trust him enough and you know he respects you enough, this shouldn't be a problem. If you tell him and he goes all weird on ya, he ain't worth it! If you tell him and he says "it's ok! We'll take ot slow and I'll make sure you're ok" then he's a keeper!
I think that sitting him down and talkin to him about it is you're best option. I'm sure if he's the decent guy you think he is, he'll be fine with it.

 Being a virgin is nothing to be ashamed of, and you should not feel arkward telling him that your his first.
To be honest he will more than likely think its a good thing. Wait till the mood is right before you tell him, like when you are both relaxed and snuggled up on the sofa maybe.
