i guess you should just ask people why do they think that and do whatever you want with the info..

I can't see your age and I may have it wrong but could this be that maybe you haven't quite found confidence in the person you truly are?
Whilst you are straight just maybe you match the people around you in order to fit in? my feeling is that the people around you who's opinion you respect.. friends, family , colleagues never are confussed about your sexuality try to tap into who you are around them and not try to please new people you meet!
Just a footnote when I meet my very straight partner I was unsure about his preferences and all that I discovered was a wonderful sensitive Man brave enough not to hide his caring side stay strong and stay You

 If they are judging you because of their assumpton, they are not worth your time anyway. However, if it is bothering you to the point where you feel everyone is spreading rumors and it is effecting your life, maybe consider dating a female you might have an intrest in, and do it very publicly. I am a female, but I happen to know that if you are a guy and are having gay men hit on you, it is a super flattering thing!!!! Gay men are known for their good taste in other men;)
