writes: I've had my eye on this one guy for quite some time... he's cute, funny... to sum it all he is the kind of guy that i could only dream of.. but real. We have never talked, but we have mutual friends and i know his parents and he kinda knows mine... but still we've never talked. Anyone who i have ever asked about him says he is the sweetest guy and that he dosn't judge anyone. A friend recently told me he dosn't have a girlfriend, and though i am really REALLY shy i am think about trying to get to know him... any advice?

I don't know about the shy stuff as I am far from shy; my inquisitive nature overrules any such feelings.
I still say that going up to him and talking to him is the best start.
In highschool, my one girlfriend was super attracted to Mike...a cute and athletic guy...she was to shy to talk to him and asked me to find out about him. I told her that she should just ask him and find out herself. She whispered angerily that No and stomped her foot and told me I had a duty to do this for her. We were all in gym class as it was the dancing part of phys ed. I asked her what questions I should ask and she would tell me and when I was his partner, I said Hi, my name is ......, what's yours? He said Mike. I asked him if he had siblings and what was his favorite dessert. I didn't stick to the questions she asked me and went for more then the usual fav color, fav song, fav sport...I asked him what he thought about his mother, who is his best friend and why, has he dated before and what does he look for in a girlfriend...it went on and on...some of the questions were just bizarre and had him laughing and finally I said, would you ever date my girlfriend? He stopped and it had a domino effect. Everyone bumped into everyone else.
He thought I had the intrest in him and thought there was some genuine chemistry.
My friend and him finally hooked up but he came to me once and told me that he wished I was interested in him as I was very refreshing, funny, and outgoing and he is super attracted to confident girls. I didn't tell my girlfriend of this. I just apologized to him and said that I learned to be more forceful and to not get to know someone on a friends behalf.
Girl, you can do anything, and if you want to know this young man...get brave and say Hi. Comment on the things you noticed about him and like. Say I heard you were a sweet guy and I had to find this out for myself; what makes you sweet?
