A male United States age 36-40, *asternboy writes:

Ok I asked a very good friend of mine out, and she said she wanted to but she was afraid of losing me as a friend if something happened between us, and now she is dating another guy.

How can I get her to change her mind and realize that I'm the person she should be with?

Tell her she will lose you as a friend either way, because you cannot bear to see her with another man...

A female reader, anonymous, writes (27 August 2009):

I hate to break it to you, but saying she was afraid to lose you as a friend was her way of trying to let you down nicely, meaning she likes you as a friend but is not attracted to you in a romantic way. If she wanted you...believe me, she would go for it. Rough I know but there are many women out there, find one who CAN appreciate you. Good luck.
