A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

After me and my girlfriend broke up, i asked 2 of her friends to be friends with benefits with me( all 3 of them are in my batch) well they told her and she got really pissed and mad at me, i spent around a week and a half try to get their forgiveness and now they have forgiven me, but i am sure that my ex only forgave me because we are dance partners in this school activity and she wants it to go smoothly, what can i do to make it up to her so that she truly forgives me, i know that she is still awkward around me, i want the both of us to be close again like before or something like that, i still have feelings for and i think she still has feelings for me, what should i do?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (28 January 2009):

if you really did have feelings for her, you would have cared about her enough not to ask to be friends with benefits with one of her friends, and you asked TWO of them. speaking as a girl that seriously crosses all the girlfriend codes, but i know from some of my guy friends that they dont really pay much attention to that stuff. if you really want her forgiveness and you think you still like her for the right reasons, you should show her how sorry you are and how much you regret letting her go. it might take some time but an apology can go a long way if she knows that you mean it
