These are the most common methods:
1. Mirroring their actions and positions and habits
2. Sly (but secretly obvious) eye contact
3. Casual smiles
The best is: If you're around them, fulfil their desires:
.i.e., Talk about what they're interested in and things you share. Which carefully demands their attention, but also invite them to strike up a conversation with you.
If all you want to do it get their attention, you are going to have to back up the intrigue with some actual substance. So I hope you're interesting!
One more thing, there is another method that has been known to work. You have to do something weird.
Like fall over, or wear a big yellow coat, or carry a tambourine or even something as normal as wearing an unusual badge that day that your special someone might ask you about.
It sounds crazy, but I'll tell you now. I've caught plenty of eyes with a mixture of these methods. ;D

 Keep looking over at them, not a continous look, just a glancing look. If you make eye contact give them a smile.
