 Um... when I fancied this guy my friends asked him if he thought I was attractive and he said "no". My friends all expected me to be devastated but to be honest it only bothered me that I wasted my time lusting over someone that didn't even like me. This however was 4 years ago and I have recently discovered that he fancies me!!! When people say the worst he can say is "no" it's true. He didn't make me feel bad for liking him and he still talked to me every maths lesson. So why don't you just ask him? It is pretty scary but it's worth it if he does like you right. But I would weigh the pros and cons first to see if it's worth your friendship if it doesn't work out.
