reader, anonymous, writes (3 July 2007): I think a year is adequate enough to see if you both want committment. Dont let him just drift along. You have every right to know where you are heading. If he cant make his mind up, doesnt know or whatever, then decide whether it is worth it yourself. My boyfriend was with his last girlfriend for 3 years and would not commit, Ive been with him 10 months and am getting my engagement ring this week!!! They know when they are ready. Let him know you wont hang around forever. I did. I gave mine up to a year, he didn't need to wait that long.

If this is your question, well, I'm not sure whether this is worth, but I do think your boyfriend should be able to commit to you. How long have you been together? Maybe he just needs some time?
