If he just needs a couple of days, let him have them. Does he realize the definition of a couple of days is just two?
I would expect its not like you will get a new boyfriend overnight or one week later. If you find a new boyfriend, you've probably waited too long- so just let him know that.

 Do you WANT to wait for him? Is he worth it? How long does he think it'll take for him to make a decision? Does he want to be with you or not?
