 I guess his attitude will change torwards you, he may become despondant, evasive, and and become secretive about texts and emails. If you asked to look at his phone and he woulden't let you, this is a classic sign. He may be going out more, staying late a work ect.
Of course he might not be up to anything atal, so make sure you have concrete evidence before you say anything.

 For him to turn around and tell you this I find disturbing. Why would you want to be with someone who treats you like that?
You cant know if he has/is cheating on you, unless there are signs pointing in that direction. Changes in his appearence, text messages, routine changes, changes in attitude towards you and the relationship all of these can point to another person; but none of them are evidence so step carefully when advancing in these directions.
The only way you cn truley know is by asking him point blank and direct. i would'nt normally say do I thing like this, but he has treated you with little respect and in a way threatened you with it. You deserve the truth from him about all this and where he sees this relationship heading if this is how he is with you.
