He said he liked me, but now he won't really talk to me

OK, so there is this guy who I have become really good friends with and I like him. He moved to a different city a few weeks ago and we would talk alot. But recently on facebook my friend told him I liked him and he told her that he liked me, so when i was chatting with him I told him that I like him and he said he liked me too. But after that a week later he wouldn't really talk to me, only if I started the conversation and even then he wouldn't talk alot and get off after a few replies. What I am wondering is if he dosn't like me anymore and dosn't want to admit it or what?
