 You could maybe ask him to draw you something? If he is an artist, he will probably love to show off. My husband is an artist and what I did when we first hung out was I drew a random line/scribble and asked him if he could turn it into a piece of art. He turned it into a portrait of me! We went on a real date the next night.
He loved showing off his creative side and I loved the memento.
Just be yourself! You don't need to be Ms. Popular for him, if you let yourself be relaxed it will show you just how much you must like him to be so comfortable. Good luck, sweet!
