 it means he does not like the girl anymore. But he's mean and selfish too. He wants her to have no joy and happiness with anyone else either. In the extreme such a nasty man can be very dangerous. Such as the sick men who disfigure a girl they no longer want.

I had someone who I went out with for a while, who I really liked, but when I got the message that he was luke warm about me and I went on and met someone else, he was very miffed. Strange really. I think he wanted me to pine forever and not find anyone as fantastic as him! So he thought.
