writes: Hi,Here is my "problem", I like a guy who is 17 nearly 18, i am 15. He doesn't really speak to me much, but my friend knows him well. I have access to his face book and i have tried to engage in a conversation with him on there. That hasn't worked so far. Is there a way I can interact with him and get to know him more?

 You are 15 he is 18 you live in different worlds. Of course he ignores you. He barely sees you. Suppose he does talk to you and get to know you, in a few months he will be 18 and there will be a legal problem with dating you, and problems dealing with your parents. He is at least playing it smart and keeping his distance. At worst you are just a pestering kid to him. Or, you just aren't his type. People that we like are not obligated to like us in return.

reader, anonymous, writes (28 February 2010): Well, I guess you could speak to your friend, and ask if she could mention you to him. She could just say something like "I have a friend who would like to get to know you, what do you think?" and see what he says. But he may not be interested, especially if you have tried to talk to him on Facebook and he hasn't responded much. If that is the case, don't take it personally. There will be other people out there who would love to get to know you, even if it's not this guy. So give it a try, but try not to become too disappointed if it doesn't work out. Good luck. x

 surely you have to know that some guy of his age wont care a lot about girls younger than them.
well im 14 and i know what to do in these cases, the people would invent an excuse for not talking to you on fb or anything but face to face i think they will talk to u without an excuse, dont be shy, try to talk to him tonight on fb, and if he doesnt answer the next day go straight to him and ask him why wasnt he answering you.. i wish you luck
