A female reader, natasia United Kingdom +, writes (9 October 2009):

natasia agony auntwell, it could mean he has an infection, or indeed something as serious as cancer. it could also, however, be that the little bit that connects his foreskin on - there's like a bit that stops it going all the way down - sort of lets it go so far then stops it - that bit can either get ripped or damaged, or can even 'ping' and then the foreskin is freer. Any of those things can happen due to a combination of the way he is made, and having sex. And if any of those happen, it usually involves lots of blood. My ex-partner rushed to hospital in terror because exactly that happened to him, and he said there seemed to be pints of blood! Of course not, but still, pretty alarming for all concerned.

So, he should go to the docs and be checked out, and it may well be only that, so don't panic yet.

Ask oldersister agony auntPoster, I don't know why he's bleeding but I find it very scary that you don't use protection and ask this question after the fact. At your age, you are well aware of the risks of STDs out there. Whatever his problem is, now it's your problem and you are going to have to get it checked out.

A female reader, HonningKanin Norway +, writes (9 October 2009):

HonningKanin agony auntOk. Where exactly was the blood coming from? If it was coming from his urethra he may very well have an STD or worse case scenerio, a type of cancer. Either way both of you should get tested and he needs to go to the doctors fast.

If it wasn't from his urethra and was from a cut on his penis, this is common for both circumcised and uncurcumcised men. More so the uncircumcised because if you are very tight or not very well lubricated the skin can be pulled back too far and tear. In this case, if you dont know who this guy is and dont know his past, this is a prime way for you to catch an STD. Again you need to get tested if you dont know him. Blood is pretty much 100% way of getting a disease.

A male reader, lazyman87 United Kingdom +, writes (9 October 2009):

he may well have 'snapped his banjo string' i.e. frenulum. the little skin bridge between foreskin and glans.

that is painful and possibly in need of medical attention.

i'm not saying it is that, but it's all i can think of.
