A male United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I would like your opinion on this subject...I went out with this girl and then went on a couple of weeks vacation when I came back she decided that she isn't ready for a relationship and want to be friends for now and down know about later to be more or not. Right now i'm trying to be a friend but it doesn't seem to me she wants to talk or anything. I would initiate text messages but doesn't seem to carry the convo. for long. How do i know if she's annoyed by me and should i move on or wait for her?

A female reader, ctds001 United Kingdom +, writes (2 July 2010):

From what you describe she is making little or no effort.

When my friends find themselves in this position I tell them to stop all contact. If the other person notices and starts contacting them and making an effort then it's all good, but if not just move on.

Maybe you could give this a try?

Good luck x
