MutantKitten agony auntIf you're looking to maybe not spend as much, You might try asking a slightly older relative or girlfriend to borrow her old prom dress, and do your makeup and hair for you. Half the time it's better than what you pay for.

My first prom I spent lots of money on a dress that started to fall apart, and paid $80 to a hairdresser and makeup artist that listen to a thing I said.

The next prom I got it right. I went for a retro look, and it turned out so well. I bought an awesome little red halter dress for $30 bucks, bought some fake eyelashes, liquid liner, and lipstick in the same fire engine red to match my dress and did my own makeup for around $30 (plus I got to keep all the stuff) Then I got my gramma and my auntie to put my hair up in pincurls the night before, and let them out into perfect ringlets an hour before. It was free and they just loved being able to help me out.

Trust me. Old ladies who grew up in the forties and fifties know their stuff when it comes to lookin sexy. My gramma lent me her backseam stockings and I found some peep toe pumps with an ankle strap in a closet.

If you just google dresses you will find stuff same with the hair but keep in mind it is expensive. The hair could cost anywhere from $60 to $200 for just an up do. The dress range too.
