writes:my girlfriend just got braces, and she's really depressed about it, I keep telling her she's beautiful and gorgeous, and she says it helps a lot, but I honestly don't think it does that much...I just want to know what I can do to make her feel like she's the most beautiful girl in the world, and she is to me!! I just want her to realize that, she means so much to me and I don't want her to be depressed for 2 years, please help!

 Keep telling her that she is beautiful and she'll come around eventually. I don't know about you but I actually find the braces look attractive. She just needs to realize that braces aren't what they used to be and now there are alot of people who think that they are attractive. Your continued support will be the best thing for her even if it gets tiring on for you.

 I had braces too but I was so glad to get mine because I had a really bad overbite and got teased a lot and called bugs all the time cause I looked like a rabbit. I couldn't wait to have straight perfect teeth. I would keep doing what you are doing by telling her it doesn't make any difference to you and reminding her how bloody flippn fantastic she will feel with a mouthful of perfect teeth at the end of this process.

 Give her a little time, she just got them..everyone hates then when they first get them after awhile she will adjust. I know I had them for a year. Plus, everyone has or has had braces these days..so she's not alone. And at least she's not 27 and having them, I've seen some adults with them. They don't really hinder your looks, you still look the same with just some necessary metal in her mouth. Yeah they suck now, but they're on there to give her an even more beautiful smile..to go with her gorgeous looks. Trust me the results will pay off. There's nothing you can really do, just keep up the encouragements they do help more than you think. You're her boyfriend your opinion matters quite a bit. Like I said she will accept them in time..
