Feeling sick and depressed lately...

A female Canada age 26-29, *icandyxoxo writes:

I don't know but I always want to be alone, like all my friends ask me to hang out with them, but I always make all these excuses why I can't

like I will lie, and say I am not allowed, or I am busy, and etc.. And every night I cry my self to sleep.. and I oo not know why. Also, my mom has been taking me to the doctor every month, which I usually have to go about once a year, and I have been really sick lately, like I have had to get blood taken, and my back has been hurting so bad that it hurts when I breath. and etc...

And I was just wondering if this was normal? Or if anyone has gone through something like this.. and what I should do.

I can relate to your story pretty well. I was going through this same thing last year with my friends. Just like you I was lying to them saying I was busy or whatever excuse I could think of. I was tired all the time and couldn't get any energy to do anything. My mom thought that something physically was wrong. But when nothing came back the doctor suggested I take a depression test. And turns out that's what was wrong with me. Now I'm on antidepressants and feeling so much better. Maybe you should try that. Not saying that I hope you have depression or anything, but maybe taking anti-depressants could help.

Then again, most people would say that having all these feelings is just being a teenager. And partially that's true, but you shouldn't be crying yourself to sleep every night.

I agree with everyone else on here too. I know it's difficult sometimes, but try and get out and do something. Try starting a journal or blog, or draw a picture when you're feeling bad. Just do something to pull yourself out of the funk. Always helps me, so it could help you too!

Good luck!

Whether it's normal or not really is for your doctor to decide. We have no idea what your overall condition is nor the symptoms or side effects to your condition.

As for depression itself then yeah those feelings are somewhat normal, not the crying to sleep thing though that's quite extreme unless it's from physical pain. But if it's from mental anguish then you have to speak to your mom about it and arrange another visit to your doctor to discuss the full range of your feelings and what is going on in your head.

Is what you're going through normal? No not at all. Now it sounds like you're being treated for a physical illness but you also need to get treated to what is happening mentally. Only your doctor can help you with that and only they can give you all the info and help you need.

Go speak to your mom as soon as you get a chance, ask her to sit down and talk and tell her all that is happening to you. She'll make the arrangements to go visit your doctor.

Good luck OP I hope you feel better soon.

Starlights agony auntYes what your going through is normal... i've been through it myself... the only thing i would advise is stay strong and in the meantime do what keeps you HAPPY...

let the tears flow.. it is normal

-and be around those that keep you happy :)

Do exercise to release those emotions and most importantly listen to what your inner guidance is telling you.

If you need more help i am here.

I hope this helps!
