Fancy dress means costumes here in the UK, you should try Ann Summers as they have a massive range of fancy dress costumes that are cuter than most. Like sexy bumblebee or nun etc... and they're actually made for parties and to be worn in public, so just make sure you look at fancy dress and don't accidentally end up in lingerie lol

That's a tough one to call really OP, because the usual "sexy" halloween outfits are very tacky and cheap looking, you know the type? Police woman with crappy blue shirt or that military looking thing or a skimpy red outfit and cheap plastic devil horns supposed to be a devil.

My girlfriend usually makes the effort to put together an awesome costume as close to the real thing as possible. For example a real Garda uniform borrowed from a friend, Hit Girl from Kick Ass (put together not bought) or Leeloo from the fifth element.

Look it depends what kind of guy he is and what he likes but most far more impressed by outfits of real characters done really well and authentic looking that aren't the "slutty" cheap, tacky version. There are millions of sexy Jokers, sexy Cat women, sexy Cheerleaders etc at every fancy dress party. While Leeloo too is quite common it's the most risque outfit you can wear, google it and you'll see. Takes a brave woman to attempt that one.

CindyCares agony aunt Catwoman ?

Or, the sexiest costume ever , IMO,was Tina Turner's as Aunty Entity in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome , I guess your friends would be too young to catch the 80's movie reference, but you can always say that you are dressed up up as " post-nuclear warrior " or something similarly sci-fi.

I think the american aunties on here are a little confused. Fancy dress doesn't mean a fancy party it means a costume party - i.e. you dress up as fictional characters. I think you guys may be confusing it with formal dress (i.e. black tie)

Anyway, I went to one very recently as the Black Widow a character from the Avengers (theme was action/super heroes) My husband loved it! Very tight bodysuit and red hair!

Good luck!

malletchick76 agony auntIf this is a Black Tie event, I would suggest a long cocktail dress. Depending on your body shape, find a cut that works for you. Halter, V cut, and Sweetheart look great. Try not to be too flashy, so do your research on the event (what the theme is, age group attending etc.) You can't go wrong with black and just do it up with accessories.

person12345 agony auntNormally I don't use this word, but don't wear something skanky. I.e. no brightly colored cutout bodycon mini dresses. You want to wear something that leaves a little something to the imagination (but not everything). You don't want to highlight your cleavage, back, butt, and legs all at once. Bring a friend with you to help get a second opinion. Look through photos of Grace Kelly for some inspiration and then go a few tiers of formal below that and probably a little more skin. Remember, Grace Kelly, not Snooki.

You want him to think sexy, but you also want him to think classy. The sexpot part should be there, but it should be subtle.

It really depends on the type of fancy dress party. Is it formal or semi formal? Will it be held indoors or outdoors? Will it be held during the day or night?

Do you know any other women who will be attending who are around your age? If so, maybe you could check out their facebook profiles and see what they will be wearing so you can choose an appropriate dress or gown.
