writes:I have a real dilema i been really good friends with this guy for about 4 years now(i'm female).But over the last 5 - 6 months we've flirted a lot and also slept together twice. The problem is that he has a girlfriend and his ex girlfriend was 1 of my friends we dont speak anymore because of a disagreement which was that she didn't like me and her boyfriend being friends and at that time we were just friends and i had no feelings for him hence why we stopped speaking i felt so betrayed that she couldn't trust me. Now i just feel awful for falling in love with him, i feel i've betray her even though they have been over for a year and a half now and we dont even speak anymore. Also i feel terrible because he has a new girlfriend who i have met once briefly she seemed really nice and i have heard good things about her. I know i can't help who i fall in love with but im so ashamed i really want to stop all this but its gone to far im emotionally attached to him and for some reason can't resist him. I would like to believe we have a chance of being a couple and just come out about everything but in reality this can't and won't happen. i just don't know what to do anymore also i don't wanna end our friendship but is that even possible?

reader, anonymous, writes (6 February 2008): I am in a pretty similar situation...and i think if you're in love with him and he loves you back then go for it... life is too short and you only live once... I know it seems harsh cos then it's hurting his girlfriend but she deserves someone who is totally in love with her and only her!
