 I'd say it does. I've given and received a fair number and I personally enjoy it best when I'm comfortable with a cushioned surface under my knees. If you want to go on your knees, be aware that your knees will hurt after a while.

 Initializing is one thing while positioning is another, and your question seems to address both. My favorite initialization has always been a "surprise attack" from either a wife or girlfriend. Some just grabbed me soon as I walked in the door, threw me to the bed or couch and sucked me off. Perhaps that's the kind of "surprise" he would enjoy as I have. For you to do this while he is standing kinda makes it like you're "servicing" your guy. It will make him feel dominant for a short while. If you want to suprise him, when he come out of the bathroom after a shower, just walk up to him, drop to your knees and get started. I don't think he'll argue, and he will probably be suprised.
