writes:I have liked this guy for quite a few months and I have been told by our mutual friends that he has an interest in me. He suggested in the past to my friend that we should go on a double date together, but it never actually happened. I have been getting strong vibes from him, i.e. always taking the opportunity to talk to me, staring at me from across the room, joking with me, but he didnt make a move. So I decided to grab the bull by the horns and text him. He responded within about 3 minutes and we texted each other all evening. Since then, we have been sporadically texting each other and he asked me about 2 weeks ago if i fancied going out some night. BUT I'm still waiting for him to arrange something! I dont think its a one way thing on my part as often he is the one to text me first, and he has been flirting with me. My friend says that he has been really busy over the past week and has a lot of work on, but said that he wouldnt say something if he wasn't bothered about seeing it through. I'm still confused though!! Surely if a guy really likes a girl, it doesnt take him 2 weeks to go on a date with her?! He has texted me since and not a mention of it!

reader, anonymous, writes (18 March 2009): Hi there, It's simple, like me he's a man and we can be a bit thick and slow with these things, dropping hints only works with women not men, you probably would need to be half naked before he realises that you are interested in him. Tell him when where and what you want to do on your date and he might get it half right! We are lousy at aranging things, thats why we need a woman in our life!
