This may be a surprising , but not all guys who engage in one night stands want it to end there. A lot of guys will enjoy the connection you had and be keen to get to know you - and gee you two might just have had an awesome time together which ended up with sex but that doesnt take away the good times. While I think it is not the best start to a relationship, it doesn't mean that it won't work.
If it will make you feel better about yourself, when you guys meet up tell him that you have never done this before so you would like to take things slowly and get to know each other.
What have you got to lose? Go for it!

 As he is keeping in contact with you, it is very unlikely it was just a one night stand.You also said he wants to meet you friends, this too is a good sign as he is interested in who you hang out with and wants their approval. Most guys use pet names when they actually like someone, but depending on the names he uses it could be different. (for example, baby and sweetie signify more than casual sex. Whereas anything with the word sex in ie: sex kitten can point towards more of a sexual relationship than a loving one.)Hope this helps
