Do women want guys to see everything?

A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Why do so many women wear tops that, when they lean over, give everyone a full view of their boobs? I have been noticing this more and more, from women of seemingly all ages. It's not just seeing cleavage, but rather all of their chest and bra. Are they really unaware that they are giving this peep show? Do they know and just not care? Or, do they get off on the knowledge that they are showing? Don't get ne wrong, I have no objection to this. I am just wondering re the motivation. Do they want me to look?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (3 September 2011):

No, personally speaking. It's not intentional. We have wardrobe mishaps! Sometimes I wear an outfit once and later find out that when I move/bend over I am either showing too much leg or chest.

Strangers--men typically--will either comment on something--ie "I must play tennis, run etc. . . " I usually don't wear it again b/c it makes me feel self-conscious. I am really fit and like my body but there is an appropriate time and place for certain clothes.

Miss.Me agony auntIt's not always about showing off to the guys (or girls); women like to dress for themselves too. Sometimes women might want the guy they're interested in to notice, or it's just what worked with their outfit that day.

I don't think it's right to always have the chest on display like leaning right and left, but when you have to bend you bend.

So to answer your questions:

Are they really unaware that they are giving this peep show? I don't think they're totally unaware, but sometimes you don't give it a thought.

Do they get off on the knowledge that they are showing? Maybe, or maybe not. I think it depends if they're trying to impress a certain guy.

Do they want me to look? Depends again. If they're interested in you, they might want you to look, or even maybe not. But if it's some old scary man staring, then they definitely don't want them to look.

A female reader, tennisstar88 United States +, writes (2 September 2011):

tennisstar88 agony auntSome women like to give a free show, just because it makes them feel confident and sexy. Or they're trying to bait a hookup for the night hoping you'll bite. When really it looks trashy and distasteful. Leave something up to the imagination!

Then there are some women who try to avoid those tops, but everything is so low cut these days, there's nothing else to wear without looking like an old maid!! But even when I bend over, I put my hand over my chest area so I'm not giving everyone a show.

A reader, anonymous, writes (2 September 2011):

I hate clothes designers actually. They design clothes and you want to wear them because they're "in," but they are cut so that when you lean over they show you off. Or they are too short and show your belly when you put your arms up.

Clothes are made for what I call "t.v." girls. If you look like you belong on t.v., then clothes will look good on you, and if you bend over and show off no one cares because everyone wants to see that. But if you are chubby, older, and not a show off it becomes so hard to find clothes that fit.

When I'm in a dressing room clothes have to go through the test. Can I stand on my toes with my arms in the air and not show my belly? Can I bend all the way over and not show my boobs? These things are what I look for. As a result I look dumpy and frumpy and I feel bad about myself, because the cute clothes do not pass these tests. But is disrespectful to show off like that, or at least I think so.

Other women would just rather deal with it and look pretty and nice. But the way I'm built if I show off like that, then I look like sl*t, and I've been warned at work because I'm "busty" but other girls get away with dressing the same way....

If they are flashing its your right to look, they are your eyes no one elses. If they call you pervert, nosey, sex beast etc, then they didnt want you to look, therefore they shouldnt show in the first place, but i think they who do that love the attention.

green eyed mulatto agony auntmost women love attention, so if getting that attention means showing their bodies off than they will objectify themselves to do so j/s.
