Do the signs point to him liking me?

I'm really having a hard time figuring out if my ex still likes me or not. When we broke up things were really bad because there was alot of screaming, crying etc. so we dont really talk to each other anymore. (I want to talk to him but im nervous too) So whenever i see him he usually stares at me unless im already looking at him, then he'll try not to look at me, but when i catch him looking at me he stares into my eyes for a few seconds (Sometimes longer) and then will look away, sometimes hell just look away really fast. So i know hes nervous, but im not sure if its cause he likes me or because of what happened with us.And when i walk past him hell give me alot of space but look at me out of the corner of his eye. And he always laughs or smiles if i say something funny, one time he smiled when i didn,t even say anything funny and couldn't stop smiling. But last friday i was talking with my friends at their lockers and he walked over and started talking to them and at one point he was standing pretty close to me, really straight to, and he didnt move until i moved. And lately hes been acting more obnoxious around his friends when im around, and sometimes hell be talking to his friend and looking at me laughing/smiling and his friend will be too. So please tell me what you think. please dont say "just get over him" i want some real advice. thanks.
