Hi all, a bit of a strange question but I have my own tarot cards and split with my boyfriend a few weeks ago, I've taken to asking the cards the present and future and I keep picking negative cards.

So I asked a friend what she thought of Tarot cards and she said she knows someone who is "really good" at them and gave me her number.

I called the woman just to ask if I was picking negative cards based on my own energy and she said maybe. I also told her I had split up with him a few weeks ago.

She then started telling me that a man in spirit was talking to her and telling her what my ex partner was thinking and feeling and basically told me he didn't love me anymore and was moving on and would not want me back in the future.

Question is is possible she really tapped into a spirit who could tell her this? She seemed very certain and very convincing

Hi OP here

I've cut up and thrown away the cards, a friend has cleared the negative energy that he said was around me because I didn't shield myself before I used the cards.

Neither of us said the relationship is over, however I have taken from his silence it is and I'm working hard on learning more about myself and becoming a better person.

Thank you for all your advice, it helped

I am Wiccan, and as such, happen to be very spiritual. I have been reading tarot for about 5 years, only giving readings to close friends and family.

One thing I have learned, is NEVER do readings for yourself. Your emotions cloud the whole reading, and you will see things that you want to see, or you will fail to understand what the cards are trying to say.

I don't like people that give readings over the phone, or in a way they can't see you. I fail to understand how they can connect with your energy that way. I also don't like the fact you told her about the split, and then all this information came through.

So in answer to your question, I don't think she was genuine. A genuine medium, or tarot reader, will leave no doubts in your mind, that it was a real reading. There are people out there, who are genuine, and can most certainly connect with spirit. But the fakers out weigh the genuine, unfortunately.

If you really think having a reading is going to help you in your situation, I suggest looking at reviews of local mediums, and finding someone else. But anyone that does readings, won't usually tell you anything negative they pick up on. Most people work with positivity and light, and stay clear of anything that could upset you.

Back in the day like forty years ago.....My friend and her boyfriend broke up.She was devastated. She went to a psychic. She paid sixty dollars. The psychic told her she would get back with this guy get married and have three children.Turns out she did get married but not to that guy and has no children. So always take what anyone says with a grain of salt.I doubt she tapped into a spirit who knows your exes thoughts. It does not work that way...your ex is still alive impossible.I also do the cards...If you think something is amiss with them sprinkle some holy water on them.Wear a cross or pentagram to protect yourself when you do the cards. But remember sometimes the cards tell us stuff we do not like.It does not mean they have anything bad about them. And Rember the death card is not bad it just means you will have a fresh new start.Learn to read the cards correctly. You are not there yet....but will be.

You're messing around with divination. Spiritualism and the occult are nothing you should be playing around with.

No-one can tell your future, and most people who do readings are nothing but charlatans that take your money. They make a bunch of generalities that you'll relate to; and your mind will do the rest.

People of faith, who worship God and believe in Jesus know that you shouldn't dabble in such things. You might open doors to darkness, and things that will mess with your mind.

Why don't you stay in the present and try to move on. If you feel yourself losing grip with reality; then see a therapist. Maybe you're having trouble dealing with the grief from losing your boyfriend.

If you had to break-up with somebody, it doesn't take any kind of hocus-pocus, cards, or a crystal ball to figure-out they don't want to be with you anymore. That's the reason most people breakup isn't it?

If you want spiritual help and healing. Go to God! Don't delve in mysticism or black magic. It's unhealthy for you mentally; and you don't know what you're messing with.

Hi

You need to come back down to earth and face facts, if your relationship has ended then let it go and move on. It's hard but living life is not about looking backwards.

I have read medicine cards (totem spirit animals) for years for guidance not fortune telling. I believe we make our own choices through life, but may need a little guidance from time to time, but you should not live by things like this.

Regarding you doing the tarot cards, they are not toys, and can drain people of energy and you also have to learn how to close your centre's down after reading. You are leaving doorways open, for negativity to come in, a bit like the Ouija board (which I would never ever recommend anyone doing).

Tapping into spirits requires gifted mediumship, clairvoyance, etc, not a quick look at a tarot card and 'here's Johnny' from the other side.

Respect your craft, hobby, gift, and understand it more, stop wasting energy, either put the cards down or learn how to use them properly and not for self indulgence. If you rely on methods like this, it can be very damaging and stop you fulfilling your own pathway, making choices, free will. making your own judgments.

I never read horoscopes and will never read them yet love Astronomy and the cosmos and moon stories.

Negative energy may be linked with your lack of experience in working with the cards properly or leaving your self open to negative energy. Energy is real and alive, changing form, it exists in everything, so be mindful of what energies you tap into and what you are prepared to give away. If you don't understand the cards and symbolism or trust your own inner voice, you may scare yourself or other people with negative readings, learn your craft or change it.

Good luck in the future, rebuild and look forward, if somebody wants to be with someone, the answer is, they will be. Don't need a fortune teller to tell you that.

kenny agony auntI think you are going to have to take this with a pinch of salt.

I'm sure that there some genuine mediums out there that do indeed communicate with the spirit world. Unfortunately lurking amongst all the genuine one's are a lot of fakes that claim to be getting messages coming through building peoples hopes up that are simply not true.

Good recommendations for lot's of people is a good place to start.

As to whether she was telling the truth or not, well there lays the dilema, no one can refute that she was was making it up or telling the truth.

Does sound a little far fetched to me to say what your was thinking and feeling.

Like i say, don't read to much into it, and take it with a pinch of salt.
