A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Am in love with this girl or am I just crazy?

I suppose I'll begin at the start, because more than likely, answer-ers ask for more detail. Let's call her 'C' for short.

It all started freshman year. Me and C never knew each other existed for the 14 years of our lives. Until the day I found that our seating chart made us sit next to each other.

She was undoubtedly stunning. She wore no make-up, and it was as if she didn't really try hard to look pretty at all. For a while, I smiled in my mind on how lucky I was to sit next to such a cute girl (as I haven't had much with the ladies in Junior High).

For the first few days of school, we didn't talk to each other much unless we worked together during class, or that rare 'free time' in class dawned us. I suppose this is how our bond of trust began to build, because as the next few week progressed, we began to talk more and more, and hang out often out of school.

Her other friends began to take a 'friendly' interest into me, and I was soon accepted into their social circle. It was odd, because I was soon bombarded with questions like "Do you like this or that girl?" or "Would you go out with...?", both question usually ending up with C as the last candidate.

A few months passed since I've known C, and her personality towards me changed. She was always nice to me, smiling a lot, and offered me a copy of her homework when I forgot to do mine. Then her mood became foul, she pouted often, and always criticized my forgetfulness of my homework (and to think that I could have used that as an advantage to ease through high school!!).

But her personality soon changes when we're among my male friends, or her friends. She goes back to that same girl I liked, and it just f-ed around with my psychie.

Her foul attitude towards me became a contagious disease, and I found myself acting just as moody with her as well. We began to fight often, she calling me gay and a cunt; me calling her a bitch and a slut. It was awful for me, and it ended with both of us giving each other the cold shoulder. But when we're back at school, we end up talking to each other anyway, as if our fights never happen.

We stare at each other often. I have been yelled at my teacher for not paying attention in class, and instead paying attention to my 'girl friend'. During lunch, we both sit on the same table, but it's a really lengthy table (probably 20ft long), and we sit on opposite ends. But we always find each other meeting our gazes before it's interrupted with our friends starting a conversation with us.

A few days before Christmas came, me and her friends decided to get together and do a massive shopping spree (which was good, because I wasn't able to get anyone gifts). After our gifts were bought, the rest of the gang left. It was only me and her left.

I volunteered to wait with her until her mom picked her up because I lived fairly close to the mall. I bought each of us a smoothie and we sat down together on a bench.

It was like old times. We talked about our first interactions with each other, how ridiculous I looked as an emo for Halloween, and about calling each other with profanity-induced names. There was no pouting, no frowns, no cold shoulder. Just laughs and smiles. It was a rare moment for us.

All of a sudden I find both her hands covering my cheeks, and her face slowly moving forward. Of course I asked what was she doing. But, it didn't stop her from closing in. She told me to "Shut up" and "close my eyes". I did the moment our lips met; We ended up making out that night.

She soon parted away, calling this night: perfect.

...

So I once again ask: Am I in love with this girl? Is this just a mere crush? Is she a love-bipolar? Or am I just crazy?

A reader, anonymous, writes (30 December 2008):

You've fallen for this girl and she's fallen for you which will probably be why she is acting that way towards you and you have started picking up her habits from the time you spend with her and reacting the same way towards her but the school time you have together and the make out session proves what anyone reading this could tell all along she likes you and you definitely aren't crazy neither of you are. I've seen it happen many times before :)

Good luck x
