reader, anonymous, writes (19 November 2006): it depends what you expect him to get. Just ask him if you want something small e.g. a teddy, or something a little dearer like perfume, and get something in a similar price range for him.
Personally if I was going out with a girlfriend after 8 months, I would be thrilled if she got me a computer game for PC or game console (does he have an XBox, PS2 etc.) and I would get her perfume.
Overall its really the thought that counts.
