Hi all,

I just need a bit of advice.

My new partner doesnt like my hairy chest (just the chest!!). So I used some hair clippers and trimmed it all to practically zero...bare chest for the 1st time since puberty.

I quiet like it..so does she BTW. Only prob is..after a few days...boy does it itch (I shower daily x2).

I thought about having it waxed..but after seeing that scene on the film 40 yr old virgin...not way!!

Is there anything that I can put on it so I am not scratching my self like a dog? How does one stop the itching?

PS I know what you women go through with a Hollywood/Brazilian now OUCH LMAO!!

That's normal, not old fashioned. Well, that's what I think, anyway.

Okay, I am a woman so I don't know about chest hair, but I wax my own legs with Veet. It's expensive, but works like a charm. You just need some patience because shaving is quicker. If you're afraid of the pain (chesthair is more resilient than a woman's leg hair) take an asperine a while before you start off.

Hi,

Has anyone used Veet or Immac or anything like that...I'm not sure I could go to a Salon to get it done...I only like my partner touching me...bit old fashion I know

Hydrocortizone is always good for itching, but applying it to your whole chest might not be economical.

I experienced the same thing when I first started shaving my face after having a beard for a long time. I'd shave it all off, then let it grow a while and it would itch like crazy while it came in. Eventually it just stopped doing that. Maybe yours will stop too.

I recommend minimizing the amount of anything you put on the skin, because the best protection is the natural oils in your skin and hair. My personal opinion: no moisturizer, consider only one shower a day, and soap no more than twice a week. There's only a few small parts of your body that are going to stink if you don't wash them regularly with soap.

I second the waxing recommendation. I used to shave and I just hated it. Then I took the plunge and started waxing. The first time hurts pretty bad. But it gets better over time, not to mention the hairs are gone for +/- 4 weeks!

tennisstar88 agony auntWell don't have chest hair myself but to get ready of itching down south, I use any medicated cream..anywhere from medicated bikini zone gel which burns to I found that cortizone cream is a bit more soothing. The area your shaving or trimming gets dry hence the itching so do keep it moisturized with a bit of lotion as well!

As a woman with much experience of waxing, I can tell you that's it's not really all that bad; the first time isn't pleasant, it's true, but waxing is far and away the best method of hair removal to avoid stubble, and also for longevity. I would recommend that you go to a salon and get it done properly. You wont regret it!

VikkiDec1 agony auntAlot of men shave their chests now, especially if their girlfriends dont like hair. You should use unscented and natural body lotion and apply it once or even twice a day. Lotion will keep the skin smooth and make it itch alot less!
