A female reader, Carrie216 United States +, writes (24 August 2008):

Carrie216 agony auntYou can totally love someone even though they only like you as a friend. It's known as unrequited love. It means your feelings aren't mutual. It's messy and hurtful sometimes, but totally possible.

A great way to beat unrequited love is to let the other person know how you feel about them. But remember, be subtle. Don't just jump out and scream "I love you!" ;]

Good luck.
