writes:Hi - I've just been given microgynon 30 by my doctor and was told I could start taking it straight away... (I'm on day 8 of my cycle). The only thing is that I'm off on holiday in 3 weeks and don't want a my period to come while I'm away... can i start taking the pill on day 15 so I don't have a period until I'm back...? I could wait till the first day of my next period but that falls on Valentines weekend... not good! :(

 Yes you just skip the sugar pills (usually they are the biggest ones in the packet) and your period will not come.
