Can two completely different people be in a happy relationship?

Question - (1 May 2011) 1 Answers - (Newest, 2 May 2011)
A female Spain age 30-35, *apolitana writes:

I have been with this guy for about 2 months. He is into rock, heavy metal and I like pop.He likes to get drunk and smoke pot, and I'm just not into it.We have a good chemistry and we like to debate about our differences, but there are some things difficult to accept. It affects me mostly, because he does not really care.He says that he loves me anyway. But I just cannot help to think about it..What should I do?

I mean I don't want us to be completely the same, it is boring, but his interests make me a little uncomfortable. He does not have to accept any strange things about me while I do.Maybe I am just a bit conservative...

Thanks for your help.
