no it isnt! my boyfreind who is 21years older than me im 19 his 40 as also had a versetermy 10years ago and it does take 2 weeks for the swelling of the balls to go down maybe looking it up on the internet like i did would help you! but no a versetermy is where they snip the pipes 1 seimen and 1 sperm they seperate them and they can not rejoin unless he goes back to have it joint back together. but i would consider you think about the future and weather you would like children adventually because if you would this ralationship could last a long time and some times haveing your pipes rejoined dont always work! so before you get any further in to this ralationship think about it! or else it will be hard to brake away in the future when you do want children!

After the snip they have to return for follow up tests to confirm that they no longer produce active sperm.
I persume you have heard of stories about women stating they are on the pill to their partner and really not been as they were trying to get pregnant, men can be known to do this too, I had a friend whos partner did just that told his girlfriend he had the snip and didn't really just wanted a way to not lose his girlfriend and wanted a family as soon as possible.
Becareful!

It is extremely rare. They ususally have to produce a specimen after their procedure to check that they are sterile.
