i always think that long distance relationships do work, aslong as you have complete trust and commitment to each other.
If you don't think you'd trust him to remain faithful or don't think that you would still be interested in months to come, then you can think about finding someone new.
Maybe trying it out will make things clearer to you - see how you go for afew months/weeks, whatever, and see how you feel about him then
