Boyfriend fine one minute and flips out the next!

Question - (29 May 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 29 May 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, *ngelWithNoHalo writes:

I have been with my boyfriend on and off for 2 years 3mnths. I finished him recently because we were both under a lot of strain and the constant arguments between us were hassling our work. Two days later, I slept with him. He knew that I love him, but at this space in time, I couldn't handle that arguments, but I miss him. He said that he was happy with this.

The night after, two days after sleeping together, I had a night out with some colleagues. In which, I was very drunk and a friend/colleague was also very drunk. We kissed, and nothing more. The next day I told the ex this and he hit the roof! Saying that I'd cheated on him and he was going to kill my colleague.

The ex whilst on the phone to a female colleague of mine, told her that we were back together, and now he's decided we're back together. I didn't want this, but I felt guilty for hurting him.

Now, my 'boyfriend' keeps being fine with me one minute, and flipping out on me the next! I've told him I can't handle him doing this, and he replied, It's your fault, you made me like this, if you don't like it, then walk away. So I told him I was walking away, to which he started saying he hated me, because he loved me so much and I was being so cruel. He's managed to twist things again so he see's it as we're still together.

Am I being selfish? In leaving him, part of me feels suffocated by him, but another part of me is saying that it's my fault he's like this and I deserve all I get. To be clear, when the guy kissed me, I was drunk, he was drunk, and neither of us were in a relationship. I feel awful! Please help, any answers much appreciated, no matter how blunt they may be. Thanks A Lot. xx
