i would chooser niether - you are too precious to be treated by a jerk and your parents are good about these things. (year of knowing you tells them so)
go find boy 3 who everyone likes and who actually loves you or failing that maybe find man 1?

 Well first you need to lose the cling on and after that start talking to and getting to know this other guy then talk to your parents and see what they dont like about him. Then for about a week keep the talking to this guy on the dl but yet still find out as much as you can about him gain his trust by telling him things about yourself, but not to much you dont want to run him off. then after that introduce him to your parents sit down and have a talk with him you and your parents, but be positive then after he leaves talk to your parents again. This same thing happened to me and this is what i did hope you try it and good luck
