A female reader, anonymous, writes (2 August 2008):

Ask your parents to make a doctor's appointment for you. Or go see the nurse at school. Blood in your poo could be lots of things, from very minor (too-hard stools from poor eating habits) to very serious (cancer). Most likely it's something trivial, but don't delay, it's a problem you'd like to get rid of as soon as possible.

I will say that it probably has nothing to do with the lateness of your period.

You may have worms. Worms are a small maggot type bug that makes your anus quite itchy and can sometimes draw blood. Worms are very easily treatable when you use a cream or pill that can be purchased over the counter. Hope this helped. Love, L xx
