A female United States age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Im 18, just moved to florida, and started seeing this guy. Weve been together for awhile, and we have been having sex, without a condom. Tonight after I got home I noticed blood when I went to the bathroom. Im scared of what this could have been from. Also during when we were having sex tonight, I noticed a popping sound inside me. Does anyone know if this may be a cyst? Am I pregnant, could it be inplantation bleeding? Help

So_Very_Confused agony auntthat popping sound could have been a queef.

if you are having unprotected sex and are not on hormonal birth control you are playing with fire and could very well be or get pregnant.

bleeding or spotting after an "active" sexual encounter is not all that unusual or dangerous...

where are you in your cycle?

A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (5 July 2013):

Hi there. If there is no pain associated with this bleeding, there may not be anything wrong much at all.

When was your last period?

Could this be the start of a new period?

Whatever the popping sound is, could have even been a little air pocket in the large bowl, which just dispersed - hence the popping sound - and might be all it is.

If it isn't your period, and the blood is unexplained, well then the best and wisest thing you could possibly do now, is to see your family doctor and tell him/her.

And see what your doctor says.

Really, your family doctor is the ONLY person who can determined if there really is a problem, of any sort.

And at the very least, you will have peace of mind, knowing that everything is fine, and perfectly normal.
