This way it will really come from the heart and be very meaningful.
Alternatively; rather than asking him for the catalogue numbers and ISBN numbers for his gifts, perhaps you should be finding out more about his interests and tastes to give you some ideas for something more genuine. By all means ask him about the things he loves! (Which you should wanna do anyway!)
Maybe later in the relationship you may fall back on ordering your own gifts, but you've only been together such a short time! -gifts from loved ones can hold sentiments you can keep and rememeber forever- don't resort to gifts to order before you've given and received a few lovely thoughtful surprises!

 Sponsor an animal for a third world farm! Oxfam do a great range of these gifts. That way you can both feel good that you have help someone else and have not been materialistic.
