Baseball....I love you...

Question - (17 September 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 17 September 2008)
A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

When I first started dating my current boyfriend I found a baseball that had "I love you" written on it on his dresser. It wasn't obvious, I found it when I was dusting (I am a neat freak :)) I questioned him about it and he said that he gave it to his ex girlfriend (of 8 years) when he hit a homerun, said it was for her.

He said it didn't represent her anymore (they've been broken up for 2 year) but it represented that he was looking for a feeling not a list of characteristics. Do you think he was telling the truth? I asked him to put it away because it made me uncomfortable, he did, but not after the long spill about what it stood for.

A female reader, Emilysanswers United Kingdom +, writes (17 September 2008):

Dude, they were together 8 years, he is going to have thoughts feelings and memories about her.

That doesn't impact on you any more than the memories of your old tree house impact on him.

He put it away and explained calmly. He didn't blow up, get defensive, or refuse to put it away.

So what is your problem?

Good Luck!! xx
